Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for High Friction Surface Treatment

King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions are scheduled on several state highways across the Philadelphia region, on Monday, June 17, through Friday, June 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for high friction surface treatment, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.


The work locations include:

  • The ramp from Interstate 95 to Woodhaven Road in Philadelphia;

  • Route 63 (Old Welsh Road) between Meadobrook Road and Sybill Lane in Abington Township, Montgomery County;

  • Route 320 (Sproul Road) between Kent Road and Darby Road in Marple Township, Delaware County;

  • Route 452 (Pennell Road) between Laurel Lane and Mount Road in Media Brough, Delaware County; Route 926 (Street Road) between Powderhorn Drive and

  • Route 352 (Chester Road) in Westtown Township, Chester County; and Glendale Road between Raymond Drive and Fairview Avenue in Haverford Township, Delaware County.


Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.


The work is a part of a $4.7 million project to apply high friction surface treatment to various state highways across the Philadelphia Region.


Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in March 2022.

J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor in the project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
